Wednesday

It's cold this morning. I have to go do laundry today and go pay some bills:( Nothing to exciting.
I have been thinking about ThanksGiving. I must confess that when we moved to Oregon three years ago I was faced with the dilema of cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time ever. I have always just went to familys for the holidays. I have no family in Oregon and I attempted to make it on my own. It was a horrible mess and I threw it all away. Last year my husband was home the week before Thanksgiving so we cooked together and it came out pretty good. On Thanksgiving day a neighbor invited myself and my children over to her house to eat and it was good. This year I know for sure that it will just be me and the kids. The holidays are very sad for me, I miss my family terribly but we just cant afford to visit more than once a year and we do that after tax returns. So this year I will attempt to make a delicious Thanksgiving dinner for us. We will decorate the table and make the most of the holiday. My husband is always home for Christmas so thats not as bad. Thanksgiving is sad, but i would like to give my children some memories and tradition to pass on:) Any tips or advice is greatly welcomed and appreciated. Have a wonderful day!!!

I stayed in my jammies all day and it felt great. ;)

I don't recall posting a roast recipe with cream of mushroom soup, I did make a roast a few weeks ago with a can Golden Mushroom soup. My Mama used to make it like that some times to change things up a bit. I always liked it. I just put the roast in a 9x13 pan along with an onion, potatoes, carrots, salt and pepper in my roasting pan and pour a can of golden mushroom soup over it with about 1/2 can of water, cover and cook in oven.

I love those PMS Brownies! I got that recipe from a girl I used to work with. She was also a Pampered Chef consultant and she used to make the stuff that she would cook at her party's for us first so we could be her "testers". She made those brownies once and gave me the recipe.

Hi Mrs. Ruiz,
Why not invite some friends over? I'm sure there are others that are in the same situation you are in. Also, what about in your church? Are there any widows that are alone that would love to spend the day celebrating with your family instead of alone? You could surely bless someone!!!!

His,
Mrs. U

PS- Sorry about the deleted comment. I had a major typo! Oops!!

I find that if I make a list of everything I want to do Thanksgiving day that helps. I think I have my old Thanksgiving day menu somewhere on my computer. If I find it I'll posted for you to see. My biggest tip is do not let yourself get overwhelmed. It's easy to do, but you can do it. Also if you mess up on a dish just think of the memories that will make. I have messed a lot of Thanksgiving dishes up and we all remember them and laugh about them today. Feel free to ask me any question you need to and the meal and I'll try my best to help you.

No, golden mushroom soup is different then cream of mushroom. Campbell's makes it, I dont recall there being a store brand. There might be a store brand, we just dont have it here.
Here is what I found when I googled it:
Golden Mushroom Soup
Made from beef stock, water, tomato puree and mushrooms, this variety of soup can be is prepared to be served as a lunch item or as an ingredient to be used in baking and cooking other foods. Unlike cream of mushroom soup that is thicker in consistency and lighter in color, Golden Mushroom Soup has a beef and mushroom flavor that can be used for the preparation of sauces and savory mixtures to be combined with other foods. As an example sauces that are mixed into chicken and rice dishes, meatloaf, ground meat mixtures (sloppy joes or similar), and sauce served as a topping for pork or veal, are all examples for the use of Golden Mushroom Soup. In addition, this Soup can also be served as an accompainment to a meal with sandwiches.
